Welcome to DCS Secondary 2026!

Dear Families,

Welcome to 2026! We are thrilled to begin what promises to be an exciting and transformative year—our inaugural year as a K–10 school. This milestone marks a significant step in our journey, and we are so pleased to have you with us as we grow together.

There is so much to look forward to this year. We are proud to be opening our brand-new Year 9/10 Centre mid-way through the year, a space designed to support our senior students as they take on greater responsibility and independence in their learning, as well as a new Food Tech, Science lab, and Art room for all students. Our calendar is already filling with rich and diverse experiences, including interstate learning adventures to Sydney and Canberra, a cultural immersion trip to the Philippines, and a journey to the Northern Territory that will offer students a unique insight into Australia’s heartland. Camps to Forth and Hobart will provide opportunities for outdoor learning, personal growth, and connection with peers and staff. The Rite Journey will also be a significant part of the Year 9 experience, supporting students as they reflect on their values, identity, and transition into young adulthood.

We are also excited to welcome two full classes of Year 7 students into our Secondary school. It is wonderful to see their energy and enthusiasm as they begin this new chapter.

We are also welcoming new staff members to our community, and we look forward to introducing them to you over the next few weeks.

For subject-specific matters, your child’s teacher is your first point of contact. For broader year-level support, our Level Coordinators are here to help: Mieke Richards for Year 7, Marcus Watson for Year 8, Rhiannon Coates for Year 9, and Alison Moore and Sam Reeve for Year 10.
