What's Happening In Primary

Welcome to DCS Primary 2026!

Dear Families,

We are delighted to begin another new year together and look forward to partnering closely with our families as we journey through the year ahead. Over the summer, and particularly in recent weeks, our dedicated Primary Staff Team—including Administration, Student Wellbeing, Learning Assistants, and Teachers—have been working hard to prepare for a wonderful start to the year.

We are excited to share that alongside 10 new students joining us across Prep to Year 6, we are also welcoming 27 children as they begin their schooling journey in Kinder. In addition, we are pleased to introduce 6 new members to our Primary Team:

• Miss Georgia De Haan (Learning Assistant)

• Mrs Sam Robertson (Learning Assistant)

• Mr Jeremiah Ambrose (Learning Assistant)

• Mrs Marion Kennedy (Learning Assistant)

• Mrs Hannah Scott (First Aid and Administration)

We warmly welcome each of them to our community.

As mentioned in our Schoolbox message to families (Schoolbox - Welcome to Primary for 2026), there have been some changes to the location of First Aid and Primary Administration. We encourage you to come in, say hello, and take some time to familiarise yourselves with the updated spaces and classrooms.

Prep Rest Days:

To assist our Prep students make the transition from part-time to full-time schooling, Prep students will have a rest day on the following days:

• Wednesday 11th February

• Wednesday 18th February

• Wednesday 4th March

Prep students will commence full-time from Tuesday 10th March.

Prep students will attend on Wednesday 25th February for our Athletics Carnival.

Please do not hesitate to contact the Central Office if you have any queries.

Prep BASE Assessment:

A friendly reminder that Prep students will be attending their half-hour beginning of year BASE assessment with their teachers on either Wednesday 11th February or Wednesday 18th February. 

Please refer to the email sent out last year for your child's appointment time, or contact the Central Office if you need clarification.
