Dear Parents and Carers,
As we step into a fresh year of learning, I want to extend another warm welcome to you all - students, families, and staff. A new school year always brings a sense of possibility and the promise of new and exciting endeavours.

Our school theme for 2026 is that “Together we learn with trust and courage.” It encourages us all to live boldly, act justly and love generously. May we learn to trust more deeply in the Lord, discovering in Him the true peace and strength that empowers us to face life with courage, joy and hope.
When we trust each other it allows us to build strong relationships, take risks in our learning, and know that we are supported every step of the way. Courage empowers us to try new things, persevere through challenges, and grow from every experience. Together, these values will guide us as we create a vibrant, inclusive, and inspiring learning community.
Last week, as a staff, we met to review our goals from 2025 and discuss our goals and plans for the year ahead. Our initiatives and professional learning for the year will be driven by supporting all students to reach their point of excellence by focusing on:
collaborative practices and differentiation in programming and assessments
improved student outcomes in Religious Education and Numeracy
implementing the SCS “What Excellent Teachers Do” Framework and unpacking “Rosenshine’s Principles of Instruction” (with a focus on Simon Breakspear’s “Teaching Sprints”).
We aim to provide many varied opportunities for the students to actively collaborate, set goals, articulate their ideas, take risks in their learning, be critical thinkers and provide feedback on their learning. We will all be working hard in so many ways!

Parents, you are all warmly invited to join us when we meet as a “Parent Representative” group throughout the year to contribute to the efforts made to create community spirit and raise funds for the school.
Next week I will be in touch to communicate a date suitable to meet this term. At this meeting we will decide on and discuss proposed fundraising initiatives for the year. It will provide us with the opportunity to share key messages and information about the school and to work together in organising community and fundraising events. When the school and parent community work in partnership we are able to achieve great things!
I look forward to a year filled with curiosity, connection, and shared achievements as we learn, explore, and thrive together.
