What a wonderful start we have had to the school year! Our Foundation students are settling beautifully into school life after beginning on February 3rd, and our Grade 1 students have done an amazing job helping model routines and expectations since returning back this year.
This week, we are continuing to build classroom routines, friendships, and confidence as learners.
We have begun practising Heggerty phonemic awareness each day to strengthen our phonics skills. Students have been introduced to the first four letters and sounds: m, s, f, a. We are practising:
We have also been reading Starting School and learning how to make predictions and using the illustrations to help us understand the story.
We introduced the concept of nouns and learned that nouns are the names of:
Students contributed their own drawings and ideas, which we proudly added to our class anchor chart on our Writing Wall.
We have been learning about 2D shapes and can now recognise and name:
Students explored these shapes through hands on experiences and drawing different objects that appear in different shapes.

Wellbeing & Routines
This consistent routine supports students to develop self-regulation, resilience, and positive relationships.
Please pack a separate piece of brain food (fruit or veggie snack) that students can easily access during our 10:00am learning block. This helps students refuel and stay focused.
Great options: apple slices, berries, banana, cucumber, carrots, grapes.
To support independence, we kindly ask families to say goodbye at the gate in the mornings.
