The Jubilee Year of St Francis of Assisi

This year marks 800 years since the passing of St Francis of Assisi, and to honour his enduring influence, Pope Leo XIV has declared it a Special Jubilee Year in celebration of his life and legacy.

The Jubilee Year invites us to pause, reflect, and renew our appreciation for the spirituality and simplicity that St Francis embodied. His life continues to inspire people of all ages to live the Gospel with humility, peace, and deep love for all creation.

Throughout this Jubilee, we are encouraged to take time for prayer, reflection, and simple acts of kindness and peacemaking, allowing the spirit of St Francis to guide our daily lives. He teaches us that peace begins in small, everyday moments, through gentleness, gratitude, and a heart open to God. His vision reminds us that caring for one another and for our world are deeply connected acts of faith.

As we journey through this special year, may we keep St Francis’s message alive in our hearts, striving to live with simplicity, joy, and peace in all that we do.
