2026 Swimming Te 

Dear Year 3-6 Parents and Carers for 2026,

Your child will have the opportunity to try out for the 2026 St. Joseph’s Swimming Team. The trials will be held early in Term 1, 2026. A permission note will be sent out at the beginning of Term 1. It is optional for all Year 3 to 6 students to try out.

We look forward to hopefully seeing some fresh talent from this year's Grade 2s at trials in 2026!

A team will be selected from these trials, based on times, gender, and age groups. There will be 3 training sessions leading up to the carnival. The four strokes students can try out for are freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. 

Please note that as of 2026, we will no longer be using Operoo for notes and permission forms. Instead, we will be using the nForma Portal platform. Please be aware of this change ahead of Term 1.

Please note the following dates for 2026, as they will come up quickly once we start Term 1:

• Thursday, January 29th: nForma Permission Note sent out to 2026 Year 3-6
• Thursday, February 12th 1:00-3:00 pm: Swim Trials at Harold Holt Aquatic Centre (Parent volunteers needed for help with marshalling, timing, and recording)

Over the holidays, we encourage all students who are keen on trying out to practise swimming the 50m distance of the four strokes that they can try out for.
