This week, our school community gathered for our Beginning of Year Mass to officially welcome everyone back for 2026. The theme of our celebration was "In the Potterâs Hands."
Using the imagery from the Prophet Jeremiah, we reflected on how God is like a master potter and we are the clay. For our students, this is a wonderful reminder that they are each a "masterpiece in progress." A potter works with patience, gentleness, and a vision for what the clay can becomeâmuch like the way our teachers and families support our children as they grow.
A highlight of the celebration was the formal commissioning of our Year 6 Student Leaders. As they made their leadership pledge in the presence of our school community, they were reminded that leadership is about service.
Just as a potterâs hands must be both strong and gentle, our Year 6 students have promised to lead our school with kindness, to be role models for the younger years, and to help shape our school into a place where everyone feels welcome. We congratulate them on their new roles and look forward to seeing the "shape" their leadership takes this year.
During the Mass, we prayed that our students would stay "soft and moldable" - open to new ideas and new friendships. We also held a special blessing for our staff, asking for "patient hands" as they help shape the hearts and minds of your children.
Â
We look forward to seeing the beautiful things our students will create and become as the year unfolds!

Yours in faith,
