KLA Feature - Languages
Japanese learning has been enhanced this term by the presence of Yuna and Anju, our exchange students from our sister school, Tokyo Junshin. They have been working closely with our Year 10 class to help them develop their speaking skills and they have visited all other language classes to share about their lives in Japan. Bree and Sabina in Year 10 are becoming very excited about their exchange to Tokyo Junshin in Term 4.
Year 7 students have been enthusiastically learning lots of new words and are starting to learn how to read and write hiragana characters. They have also enjoyed learning origami with Yoshimi Sensei.
Year 9 have been exploring new language doing “mini cooking” and making self introduction videos. Year 10 are creating “milestones” presentations using newly learnt sentence structures to talk about important times in their lives. Year 10 have also attended an excursion to Macquarie University where they learnt about the many ways they can develop and use their Japanese languages skills after high school.
