Weekly Overview

NAPLAN for most is all completed. Well done to all the students that have undertaken this. It is a great relief for those who have completed them all. If your child/children have missed a session they will be made up in the coming days.

High expectations and Goal-setting

We always want our students to "do their best" in all areas of schooling and life. At HTS we set goals for a purpose and reason to show personal growth and the ability to continually learn.

In our lessons at school, teachers indicate learning intentions and ways/strategies or tools to achieve success. Fundamentally, students are always encouraged to deepen their knowledge and widen their horizons when learning. Research has shown that when students have been given goals or learning intentions they are more committed to completing the task at hand as they are aware of what they are learning. This term we have set goals for each of our students (some reach them faster than others depending on complexity and understanding). We know that each is measurable and has the potential to reach their aspirational learning goal.

If you haven't already try making some goals for your children/child or ask about their goals within the classroom.

I wonder what other goals students have at HTS and beyond?

Can you remember what your dreams were in Primary school?

Parent/Family Conferences - Active

On Tuesday 26 March and Wednesday 27 March, we will be inviting parents and families to meet with your child/children's teacher to communicate about the progress that has been observed this term.  Please make sure you use the Compass portal/App to book in. The bookings are live and can be accessed via Compass.

These will be held in the Hall from 3:20 pm onwards. Please note the change in venue from the Compass email. For meetings prior to 3:20pm please come to the Front Office so you can be directed to the right location as it may vary from class to class. This is the same for both days.
