Principal's News

Dear SMCM Community, Wominjeka!

Congratulations to our Foundation students who are completing their first full week of school - five whole days! They have enjoyed a very settled start to their primary schooling and we look forward to watching them grow and learn over the next seven years.

Following last night's accident I continue to appeal to all families to prioritise student safety at pick up and drop off times. Families and students are asked to:

  • use the supervised crossing
  • hold your child’s hand when crossing the road in non supervised areas
  • follow the signage in the Kiss and Go zone outside the school including staying in your vehicle and moving to the end of the zone with the traffic
  • the staff car park is at capacity and is for staff use only (exceptions apply for students or parents with mobility challenges)
  • please do not walk children through the staff car park before or after school

I have spoken with a member of the City of Whittlesea Traffic Management unit again today and they will complete a new traffic and pedestrian survey of Farmhouse Blvd to determine if there is enough pedestrian activity for a second supervised crossing on Farmhouse Blvd. towards Greenfields Drive.

Thankyou for your cooperation as we work together to ensure all families can enter and leave the school safely.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Richard, Anabel, Lucas (Renew Homegroup) and Noah on the passing of Richard's mother in the Philippines.

Our thoughts and prayers are with David, Kristy, Luca (Ando homegroup) and Ava on the passing of David's mother last week.

I look forward to seeing you all at tonight's Harmony Day picnic as we celebrate our diverse and inclusive community!
