Sewing Club
Each Monday at lunchtime during Term 1 this wonderful group of students has been meeting with me to sew a very special "TOP SECRET” project.
A few weeks ago in a previous newsletter the St. Joseph Community was given a little taste of this "TOP SECRET" project and now all can be revealed….
It all started with an idea I had during the summer holidays.
So it began…..Let’s make a Bunting with our sewing students for Mrs Moore. The Art captains and some very excited students met with me at the start of Term 1. There were many ideas suggested and in the end, they voted and came up with this beautiful message. “WE MISS YOU MRS MOORE LOVE SJM”. Sewing thread colours needed to be decided. It was unanimous, it should be House colours - Green, Red, Yellow and then Blue to represent St. Joseph’s.
To my delight, the next week there was an overwhelming response, 17 students came to sewing bringing their enthusiasm and amazing sewing skills. Each student embroidered a letter with a heart on a piece of the bunting. Then they embroidered the class names for a border with a message from the Staff of 2024.
We also wanted to involve all the students at St. Joseph's, so the Grade 6 students went to each class and organised the students to write their names and this was placed into a giant card for Mrs Moore.
The “Top Secret” special project and card have now been delivered by Mrs Freeman. Thank you Mrs Freeman for taking the time to do this.
Mrs Moore now has her special gift to look at every day to know how much she is loved and missed by everyone at St. Joseph’s.
Wishing all the St. Joseph families a wonderful holiday break.
Happy Easter
Miss Karen
