Welcome to Wellbeing

Wellbeing have had a fantastic start to the 2024 school year. Firstly, I’d like to welcome three new members to the Wellbeing team. Beth Hagg is joining us for two days per week as a Student Wellbeing Officer, with a particular focus on supporting students who have transitioned across from another school. Hannah Littler, who is joining us for three days as a Mental Health Practitioner, focusing on providing support as well as health promotion in the mental health space. Finally, we have June Wheel, who is joining us as our new Secondary School Nurse. June’s priority areas will be fostering safe spaces within the college and supporting in the area of sexual health. It’s great to see the growth of our team and all the fantastic support options it provides for our students, so a BIG welcome to Beth, Hannah and June.

Harmony Week

Harmony Week has been the highlight of term for the Wellbeing team! It has truly been a fantastic celebration and acknowledgment of the diversity within our school community. For us at Patterson River Secondary College, it really aligns with our core school values of Community and Respect through the promotion of a more inclusive and respectful environment, where everyone belongs. It has been great to collaborate with the amazing Student Voice team of leaders at the College as well as be supported by so many fantastic staff and students. A huge thank you to Kingston Youth for their support and attendance throughout the week. I’d like give a special shoutout to the following students who were Harmony Week Ambassadors, Chloe A, Seth L, Amity G, Charlie J, Jarred H and Audrey B of Year 10.

Wellbeing Reminders

Breakfast Club has been running and will continue to run across three mornings a week in Term 2. All students are invited to attend.
