Mindfulness, Relaxation and Meditation

 

In Livcare we practise relaxation during our day,

 

We practice different forms of mindfulness/relaxation which can be different genres of music, a listening book, Indigenous stories/ beats and/or sounds from the outside. By showing the children the concepts of mindfulness and relaxation skills, we help them to increase their wellbeing. Mindfulness/Relaxation is the art of paying attention to what is happening in the present moment.  It maybe what the children are feeling, hearing or anything else they notice around them. Relaxation/ Mindfulness is a kind and calm look at what their body and mind are doing in the here and now.

 

WHY EXPERIENCERELAXATION/MINDFULNESS?

In the Early Years, this act aims to give the children some tools to build their confidence, cope with stress and be able to relate to uncomfortable and/or challenging moments. It

can also provide a life skill and opportunities to build resilience throughout the year.
