Drama 3 | Devil's in the Detail
The devil is always in the detail – and when it comes to the construction of the Hobart stadium at Mac Point, there are plenty of details to consider. Drama 3 students interviewed key stakeholders and a range of local community members to devise a Verbatim Documentary Theatre piece, which they presented at St Peter's Hall last week.
The production used the real words of real people to bring the divisive issue of the stadium build to the stage. Students took on the roles of both creators and performers, and their engagement with the community on such a hot local topic proved to be a rich and rewarding experience. Congratulations to all the performers, and to their creative director and teacher, Ms Sally Lewry, for delivering such a thoughtful and powerful piece of theatre.
