Year 10 PDHPE – Life Beyond the Classroom

Year 10 PDHPE classes have recently finished a 'Life Beyond the Classroom' unit whereby they completed a visual representation of their 5-year plan once they leave school. Information included the ATAR/prerequisite requirements for their desired university course, work plans – full or part time, travel, and living arrangements. This was presented to their peers, along with a resume they all created. This unit and assessment task coincided with their Subject Selection evening and choices, to assist them to be better prepared for this difficult process, and ultimately for their journey after school. 

Year 12 PDHPE - Stages of Skill Acquisition

Year 12 PDHPE students are currently learning about the Stages of Skill Acquisition. Part of the unit involves the students selecting a skill, then analysing how it would be taught differently to each of the different stages (cognitive – associative – autonomous). Thanks to Mr Nunura’s Year 4 class who kindly volunteered to be part of the training sessions: with the class being taught skills such as hurdling, javelin throwing, rugby passing and bowling in cricket. This also provided a great opportunity for some collaboration between out Junior and Senior School students.
