On Tuesday 17th June, 22 students formed two teams to represent St Francis Xavier at the Conference 2 Soccer Championships at Morrison Bay Park in Putney. This fierce competition was for students who have experience in soccer and play regularly. Our students performed admirably against other schools and are to be congratulated on their effort and sportsmanship. A special mention to the girls’ team who finished 3rd place in their pool.
Boys’ team: Diego B, Daniel F, Sebastian P, Christian S, Aleksandar R, Thomas R, James F, Elijah S, Anthony R, Cian C, Liam M, Leander T.
Girls’ team: Elizabeth A, Kiara A, Gabrielle C, Sephora G, Hannah S, Emily D, Deanne Z, Elise K, Sophia R.
I am currently nominating students to compete at the Conference 2 Athletics Championships on Monday 4th August (Term 3, Week 3). These are based on performance at our school Athletics Carnival and qualifying times and distances provided by Sydney Catholic Schools. Students who have been selected will receive a notification via Compass by the end of the term.
Interschool sport provides an opportunity for all students, no matter their ability, to regularly compete against other Sydney Catholic Schools in a fun, active and friendly environment. There are two of these events occurring this term which will require parent volunteers to assist with managing a team. If you are able to assist at these events, please indicate this when the Compass permission forms are sent out.
Thank you for your continued support of sport,
