Principal Message

Dear Families and Community,

Whilst the weather has gradually become colder, the programs both curriculum and extra curricula have certainly continued to gain momentum. In the last fortnight the VCAA GAT was completed by all VCE students undertaking a Yr12 VCE subject, for EMC this is nearly 400 students. I would like to acknowledge the efforts and behaviour of our students - it was nothing short of impeccable, across our Senior Centre and in the surrounding court yards you could hear a pin drop.

Semester One has now completed and staff are completing reports for students and parents to receive tomorrow. I encourage families to discuss student results, celebrate the wins and reflect on the challenges. Consider the opportunities that worked to help you consolidate your learning and the opportunities you still need to engage in to continue to improve.

Recently our Year 7 students headed off on camp – staff and students braved the cold weather and new friendships were forged. Students completed a range of activities, some students were exposed to new adventures such as horse riding, mountain biking, treasure hunting, archery, team sports and making damper. The camp certainly highlights the need for students to be exposed to these opportunities to learn how to self-manage, organise themselves and their belongings and build resilience. Staff were impressed with the way in which students supported each other to, at times, be brave and manage when they were missing home!

We have begun to engage with the new Frankston Tech team - a DET initiative that will provide our local schools an opportunity to engage in a range of STEM sessions at Frankston Chisholm campus. A couple of classes have completed a day creating a sustainable chocolate product with self-designed wrapping. We also have students participating in the 'Growing Beyond Earth' initiative through the Royal Botanic Gardens, with students conducting a range of experiments and collecting data.

Our production team continue with a very busy term - with our recent success of the Music camp and rehearsals well underway for our 2025 9 to 5 production, middle school students will now have the opportunity to be part of a Middle School Production that will be on show in Term 4. The energy both our teachers and students display in this area is outstanding.

The Principal team wish all of our students and families a safe and restful break, we look forward to another exciting term of learning and adventure!

Warm regards,

Jodie Ashby

Acting Principal.
