Term 2 - Week 10

A message from the teachers

As we come to the end of semester 2, it gives us a really good chance to look back at the successes of our 5/6 students. This semester has been an incredibly positive one, with successful academic results, fun activities and competitive sports competitions.

Academically, we have appreciated and welcomed the children’s attitude to their learning this semester. The willingness to give something a go, the attention they have paid to the new routines and their resilience to difficult tasks has resulted in a sense of pride amongst the cohort and some amazing growth. Academic highlights this semester have been the Mock Parliament last term, displaying their persuasive writing and research skills, their creative writing vignettes this term and the overall growth of the cohort in their times table knowledge and skills.

Some other highlights of the term have included the Melbourne Museum excursion, kinder buddies and the 5/6 concert. The museum was a fantastic way to deepen our understanding of Victoria’s first peoples and we were impressed with the way our Le Page students carried and immersed themselves in the experience. Kinder buddies has genuinely become one of the highlights of our week, with the students forging strong bonds with their buddies and relishing the chance to be a role model with our young friends from Cheltenham North Kindergarten. 

We are looking forward to another positive semester next term.
