🙌🏻Revive at Leighland 🙌🏻
Our amazing Secondary Student Leaders launched an after-school event called Revive for Years 6–12, a reimagining of past Worship Nights with a fresh vision!
Students enjoyed games in the MP Hall, shared snacks, and spent time in worship, Bible teaching and prayer.
Revive is all about fun, connection and sparking a revival of faith in our school. A big thank you to everyone who came along. We can't wait for the next one at the end of Term 3!
📦10-Minute Cubby Challenge!📦
Year 9 students were given 10 minutes to construct a cubby large enough to fit one team member by only folding or taping the provided cardboard boxes. They then reflected on what makes a good shelter and how Maths could be used to improve their designs. They also explored up and coming businesses started by architects who use this exact idea: Carborigami and Kartent.
Students were surprised to learn that cardboard is being used around the world for temporary and emergency accommodation. Next, they will construct scale models of shelters in the shape of various right prisms, comparing their space efficiency per unit cost and their livability in terms of furniture arrangement needs.
This project will culminate in our Winter Sleepout on the last night of term. Students will construct shelters from cardboard (on school grounds) and sleep in them overnight, raising awareness and empathy for the 1 in 10 Australian young people who experience homelessness every year.

🪵 Woodchopping World Champion🪓
Our Year 10s were recently inspired by a visit from Woodchopping World Champion, David Foster!
As part of our English unit on Resilience, David shared his powerful story of overcoming obstacles with a CAN DO attitude, strong family support, and the drive to be his best.
Thank you David, for encouraging our students to face challenges head-on and believe in what’s possible!
