Over the past week, I had the privilege to attend the Burnie Eisteddfod one day to hear our Senior Choir perform. As I sat in the front row of the Burnie Arts and Function Centre, I was mesmerised by their voices and moved to hear them singing about a God who loves them; it was such a testament to all who were present. I want to also acknowledge the incredible dedication of Mrs Polden to her craft, to the students who performed and in supporting each of them to be the best that they could be. She really is a gift to our school (and now we need to buy a bigger trophy cabinet!).

As a Christian School, we have the freedom to share our faith; to pray for, and with, our children and their families and to demonstrate kindness and care when they are facing challenges. Sometimes that looks like providing a meal through our Chaplain Mrs Easton (that has been lovingly prepared by our church partners at Burnie City Church) or checking in on a family who has received bad news, or simply chatting to a parent at pick up or drop off times, and sharing their burdens with them.

I have really enjoyed seeing parents contributing to the life of the school through hosting the Uniform Swap, rostering on to help launch Christmas in July, running hot lunches, volunteering in the classrooms and attending our Open Afternoons across the term. These are the times that we see that partnership grow and flourish.

Term 3 will bring some staffing changes to the Burnie Campus. Mr House begins a new chapter, and even though we will see him back for relief teaching, God has been opening some very exciting doors for him, and we wish him nothing but the best in these new adventures. This week in preparation for that change, the children met with their new teacher, Mr Ben Mudie, via Zoom and they had a great time getting to know each other a little better before he starts in a couple of weeks' time.

As we prepare to take a break from the routines of school, I trust that you and your family will have time to relax, recover and prepare for the term ahead, especially when we start with Learn to Swim and Christmas in July!

Blessings from all of us on the Burnie Campus.
