Eastern Regional Athletics Achievements
Well done to Matilda Eimermacher, Jeral Haj, Noah Kavanagh and Madeleine Jayasuriya on their achievements at the Eastern Metropolitan Regional Athletics Championships!
Matilda had an amazing jump of 7.20m in her triple jump event. She came 6th overall in the competition which is a great accomplishment.
Noah was able to throw a personal best of 24.35m in his 12 year old boys discus event and in the face of tough competition he came 8th overall.
The 100m and 200m races are always very close at the Regional level, mostly milliseconds apart from first to last place. Maddy ran her 100m in 14.80 seconds placing her 8th out of 15 competition in her event. However she did come second overall in the heat of her race. In her 200m race, she came 10th overall in a strong 11 year old girls race.
A highlight from the competition was the throw of Jeral at the Regional 12 year old shotput event. His throw of 11 metres with a 3kg shotput placed him first amongst the competitors, making Jeral the best 12 year old shotput students out of all schools in the Eastern side of Melbourne. His first place medal advances him to compete against the best in the State at the State Athletics Championships. We hope he can even best his personal best throw as he competes against the best in the State next Wednesday 1st November.
Knox Division Rugby Gala
In partnership with the National Rugby League (NRL) and Melbourne Storm, we are ecstatic to introduce this year's students to the Knox Division Rugby Gala day (Billy Slater Rugby Challenge). There will be two boys and girls rugby tag teams competing at this challenge against other schools in the Knox area.
We wish our students below and their teams the best of luck and hope they enjoy the festivities and game play on the day.
