Duke of Edinburgh Award

Bronze Assessed Exploration around the Murrindindi Reserve

What a great bunch of adventurers we had over the last weekend in October!  13 students completed their final exploration for their Duke of Ed Award for the year. They certainly deserve some rest now.

Students completed a challenging route for their assessment weekend. With no complaints they just kept going! They recognised the importance of listening to each other, listening to their bodies and turning any pain/discomfort into positive actions as they hiked some extremely steep terrain.  I can say without hesitation that I have seen growth in all of the students throughout their experience; some were outstanding in their cooking and camp efforts.   Our walks were from the Donnelly’s Track all the way through to Mt St Leonards Lookout and around the Murrindindi Track to SEC Campsite.   Day 2 the students completed the Boroondara Loop which came down alongside Wilhelmina Falls.

Congrats to our Awardees.
