Principal News

Dear Sacred Heart Community

Prayer

Samantha

With her mum Damira's permission, I would like to let our community know that one of our beloved students Samantha is facing a challenging health battle. Samantha is receiving the very best of care from our magnificently trained doctors and nurses at the Royal Children's Hospital. As you read this newsletter, Samantha will be going into her second week of hospitalisation with the very real prospect that she will remain in care well into the new year.

Despite the expert care she is receiving, I know Damira and Suzanna (Samantha's sister) would welcome your prayers during this very challenging time.

For those of you who have the privilege of knowing Samantha, you will know a young girl who displays unbridled joy, wears a sincere ever-present smile and loves being with her family and friends.

Again we ask for your thoughts and prayers for Samantha.

I would like to thank the parents from our Year Two/Three and Four cohort who upon hearing about Samantha's health battles have joined some initiatives under the guidance of Monica (Amy and Ethan's mum) showing the family they are part of a caring Sacred Heart Community.

Being a mum of three children herself, Jess knows that during times that are challenging when we are exhausted and time poor, preparing meals is the last thing we want to face. Bearing this in mind, Jess' is initiating with our staff an idea to help the family. We invite parents to participate as well. This initiative is detailed in her section of this newsletter.

Canteen Closure this week

Please be aware that Parade College Preston is closed for a professional development day. As such there will be no lunch orders tomorrow, with next Friday 24th November being the last day for lunch orders.

A Letter From Antoinette

Dear Sacred Heart School Community,

My name is Antoniette Stasi, and I am excited to extend a warm hello to each and every one of you. Outside the classroom, I enjoy playing tennis and going for brisk walks. Recently I discovered Pilates which has become a cherished part of my wellbeing routine. I love cooking for my family and friends and find happiness in spending time with my two children.

Recently, I embarked on a beautiful journey with my husband, travelling the amazing landscapes of Europe. The highlight of my adventure was revisiting the town where I was born, Monterruro (Potenza), nestled in the picturesque Italian countryside. Among the many destinations, Rome, Vienna, Polignano A Mare and the island of Crete in Greece, captured my heart with their unique charm and culture. Each step in these cities felt like a journey through time, surrounded by architectural wonders and the echoes of centuries past.

I am excited to be a part of the Sacred Heart School community. I look forward to meeting you all, sharing experiences, and contributing to the vibrant tapestry of our school. Here's to a year filled with learning, growth, and memorable moments!

Warm regards,

Antoniette Stasi

Year Foundation to Year Four Swimming Program

As explained previously, our swimming/aquatics  program for our Year Foundation to Year Four students takes place next week commencing Tuesday and going through to Friday. Cristina has put out a permission slip online this afternoon and we ask that all families have this completed by Monday. I know our teachers would appreciate any parents with a working with children check who can help at the pool getting our younger students ready for both swimming and then back on the bus.
