State Athletics Championships

A huge congratulations to Howen F on qualifying for the upcoming School Sport Victoria State Athletics Championships at Lakeside Stadium on Wednesday 1st November 2023.  

In the State Final, Howen will compete against the top 16 students in Victoria from both State and Independent schools.

Howen will represent Vermont Primary School in the Boys 11 years 80m hurdles and triple jump events.  Qualifying for a School Sport Victoria State Championship in any sport is an outstanding achievement. 

As a school we are extremely proud of Howen’s achievements, and we wish him the best of luck in the State final.

Whitehorse Division Softball Final

On Wednesday the Vermont Mixed Softball team went to Kerrimuir Primary school for the Division finals. Vermont showed great sportsmanship, batting and fielding exceptionally well. We only had time for 2 innings, and we won with a final score of 16 to 12. We are proud of our teammates and are very excited that we have made it to the Region finals! Thank you to Mr Walsh and Miss Pittas for coaching us. A special thank you to Gavin’s dad and Arnav’s dad who drove us there and stayed to support us.

Digi Tech

Last term the Year 4 & 6 students were very busy in Digi Tech. The Year 4 students worked in collaborative teams to create a PowerPoint which they all worked on at the same time from different devices. A highlight of this project was working in groups and making buttons so that the person using the PowerPoint could choose their own pathway.

The Year 6 students investigated computer networks generally and then looked more closely at our school network - the different pieces of hardware: servers, routers and switches and where in the school these could be found. They they were asked to use images and drawing tools in the Class Notebook to create a computer network.
