Level 3 – Animals

Level 3 students have been learning the 12 Chinese zodiac animals this term.

They have learned the legendary story of how the zodiac animals were chosen, and the sequence of the zodiac cycle. In the matching activity, we called out numbers in Chinese and tried to match the animals’ Chinese names with the correct English meaning.

Level 4 – Daily activities and Time

Level 4 students have been learning daily routines and time in Term 4.

We listened, identified, and ordered which activities Victor and Lucy did during their day. We also drew the hour hand on the clock face to indicate the time as written in Chinese.

Level 5 - Directions

Level 5 students have continued learning the topic of My Community.

They have been learning how to give directional instructions in Chinese. In one of our learning activities, students gave directions in Chinese to guide their peers to move the dinosaur from one community place to another on the map.

Level 6 – Money

Level 6 students have continued learning the topic of Food and Dining this term.

Students have learned the question “duō shǎo qián? 多少钱?” (How much?), and how to respond appropriately with the price of the food or drink in Chinese. We have also looked at the features of the Chinese dollar notes, such as the Chinese scenery on the back of each dollar note.
