Principal's Message

Our Year 9s will be the graduating Class of 2026! They have achieved so much in their three years of secondary school and are set to achieve much more in their final three years. The Ceremony celebrates the important step our Year 9s are making as they transition from childhood to adulthood, and from the Junior School into the Senior School.

This year the year 9s have been working on answering our three big Coming of Age Questions

  • Where does my strength come from?
  • What am I taking with me into adulthood?
  • What am I leaving behind with childhood?

For the Coming of Age event Year 9s:

  • will prepare a written invitation to their special guests, explaining the impact that they have had on their growth into the young adult they have become
  • present a handmade gift to their guests of honour
  • prepare and present a portfolio of work showcasing their thinking about our three big Coming of Age questions, and a timeline of their lives showing important moments in their life.
  • will be presented with their MSC Blazer and Coming of Age pin

I encourage you to talk to your Year 9 about their preparation work for the Ceremony.  Thank you for your support of our Year 9 students. I am incredibly excited to be partnering with each of you in this event. I'd love to hear any thoughts, questions, or ideas that you have about Coming of Age. The more community investment in moments like this, the more meaningful it will be for our kids.
