What's Happening In Our Grade

Literacy:

This term we have been learning about response texts. We have looked at a variety of texts and clips including Lego Masters, restaurant reviews, Tripadvisor, Masterchef, My Kitchen Rules and book and game reviews. We have learnt about text features such as judgement words and have been writing our own response texts on a variety of subjects. We are very busy building our own Lego creations to complete in the Grade 3 Lego Masters!! 

Numeracy:

Students have been learning various strategies to assist them to solve multiplication and division problems,making connections between the two. They constructed a fraction toolkit to use,model  and represent equivalent fractions. They have used informal and formal units to measure the area of various shapes. Students created and identified the area of each part of their own robots.They enjoyed conducting simple experiments, identifying and describing the outcomes using the language of Chance.

Inquiry

Students have enjoyed learning about living and non living things in Biological science this term. They have been investigating the relationships that living things have with each other and how this assists in their survival. Students were extremely excited to further their learning with an excursion to the Melbourne Zoo!!
