Butterfly Update

Last week, we shared about the chrysalis in the Year 1 and 2 Community. On Friday, we had the first Monarch butterfly emerge from its chrysalis in the Year 1/2B Community. The children were able to watch the butterfly emerge and see its swollen abdomen and crinkled wings. They observed the wings dry and stretch out and the butterfly begin to move around the cage.

On Monday, the butterflies were released. They can only stay in the cage for 2 days, so need to be released so they can feed.

We now have had 5 butterflies emerge. Only 3 more left. The three remaining chrysalis are now starting to change in colour. We hope they will all be butterflies by mid week.

World Teachers Day - October 27

Australia will celebrate the teaching profession on World Teachers’ Day on Friday 27 October 2023.   Let’s celebrate Australia’s teachers for their skilled work in educating, inspiring and supporting our students.

Hats off to teachers this World Teachers’ Day!
