Y10 Production Design Wood

WOOD YOU LIKE TO HAVE A GO??

Hello Fellow ESC students and parents… and teachers my name is Kody Le and I was lucky enough to be a part of the year 10 Production Design Wood Tech class this semester.

Under Mr. Kaska’s guidance, our semester was devoted to crafting boxes.

This involved creating a shelf and a draw for what would eventually become something we can place on our desk to cherish.

The journey began with wood exploration, understanding nuances in timber grain and texture.

Designing our boxes, we planned out how we would make them, infusing personal touches into everyone’s boxes.

Some of these included different types of handles and the option to include an area to mount and charge your phone.

In our class, precision took precedence, as we cut, measured, and assembled or boxes.

Mr. Kaska’s expertise steered us through challenges, ensuring a wonderful outcome,

Finishing our boxes showcased the beauty of our skill and crafty mentality, while some of the aspects of the design were fixed, such as the use of a finger joint.

The final showcase presented a diverse array of boxes.

The wood tech team of students showed commitment and a strong mindset.

Overcoming setbacks and learning as the class went on.

This made a massive difference to how we performed throughout the semester.

Overall Production Design wood technology is a great hands-on learning experience.

It’s definitely worth a try.
