Community Volunteering

Estia Health

On Thursday 23rd November, four of our Year 12 2024 students participated in a Community Volunteering program at Estia Health.

The program aims to foster intergenerational relationships by including teenagers in events run at aged care facilities.

Our students participated in a bingo activity and a getting to know your activity with some of the elderly residents at Estia Health in Epping.

These activities not only benefit the elderly citizens who enjoy the energy and warm smiles of young people, they also give our young people the chance to develop their interpersonal skills.

These programs also promote empathy and understanding.

They give young people the chance to think about how we can help others.

These students certainly demonstrated they can care for others in their willingness to give up their time to help put smiles on the faces of people who, despite having contributed so much to our society, are often the forgotten ones.

A big thank you to Mel and Gabby for accompanying the students.

Thank you to Whittlesea Community Connections, Serdar and Emma for organising this with us.

Finally, thank you Megan Henham, Stefani Stefanovski, Joshua Talevski and Hadi Alao for always being amazing ambassadors and role models of Epping Secondary College.

We look forward to seeing you all shine in 2024.
