Big Summer Read
Wyndham Central College is pleased to announce the Big Summer Read is taking place at Wyndham City Libraries these summer holidays!
The Big Summer Read aims to arrest the ‘summer slide’ by engaging children and their families in a fun and dynamic campaign through public libraries, supported with resources such as a user-friendly website, posters, downloadable activity sheets, stickers, badges—real and virtual.
A competitive element with state-wide and locally sourced prizes provides added incentive for participation. Distinctive state-wide branding encourages participation in the program, whether children are at home or on holidays elsewhere in Victoria.
865 Wyndham children signed up last year, with a total of 6,437 books read between them. With your support we would love to see an increase in participation this year. The Big Summer Read runs from 1st December 2023 until 31st January 2024.

Beach and Water safety Education sessions
Education sessions – January 2024 - Expression of Interest (for people with disability and/ or from multicultural backgrounds)
Wyndham City with Life Saving Victoria are planning some beach education sessions for people with disability and/ or from multicultural backgrounds in January 2024 at Werribee South Beach. To help us with planning these please complete our Expression of Interest by Thursday 30 November. All those who complete the Expression of Interest will get early access to book places.

Werribee Districts Football Club
Werribee Districts Football Club are seeking expressions of interest in two Junior Girls Football teams for 2024.

WDFC are seeking players, coaches and support staff to start a under 12 and 14 Girls Football Team.
Players interested will need to be born in 2012 or 2013 for under 12s, and 2010 or 2011 for under 14s.

Opening doors to Educational opportunities and save on School costs.
Saver Plus supports people on lower incomes to develop lifelong savings habits, gain financial skills and lighten the load of educational expenses.
The program is free, life-changing and participants who complete the program will get $500 for an educational item!
There are 3 elements of Saver Plus:
- SAVING – You will work with a Savings Coach to work through your budget and develop a life-long savings habit
- MONEY MINDED WORKSHOPS - Fun workshops where participants build on their money management skills and we share lots of resources. These are held on Zoom and have never been more flexible to attend. 5 X 2 hour workshops, each with a different theme.
- CLAIMING - ANZ bank will match what participants save up to $50 a month to a total of $500 over 10 months. On the 11th month of the program participants claim their matched funding. This money is to be used on an educational tool such as a laptop or school camp for a child.
The eligibility criteria:
- Have a Health Care Card or Concession Card AND receive a Centrelink Payment*
- Be studying OR have a child in school (child can be starting next year)
- Have some regular income from work*
- Be 18+ years old
*Can also be the participant’s partner
We are now also offering the Money Minded Workshops in the following languages:
