French Programs

Sophie Oldfield

What’s happening in our French classrooms?

On 26 & 27 October 2023, our Principal, Ross Pritchard, French Binational Coordinator, Genevieve Papon, and Sophie Oldfield attended the Australian Association of French Bilingual Schools (AAFEBS) conference in Sydney. This annual meeting between sixteen schools is a wonderful opportunity to collaborate, and exchange pedagogical ideas and projects between AEFE schools and other bilingual French schools in Australia and abroad.

This week, we also welcome one final group of New Caledonian teachers; they are currently in Melbourne to explore bilingual education in both primary and secondary school settings, with the aim to implement similar programs back home in Nouméa. Bienvenue à Auburn High School!

The first edition of the Compétition de conversation Généralehas begun! All our Year 7-11 French Language students are taking part in this competition, with great prizes to be won! Bonne chance à tous!

Our Year 9 French Partial Immersion students have been looking at various career prospects, and presented the class with their findings.

Finally, good luck to our Year 9, 10 and 11 French students who are sitting their French internal exam, and to our Year 9 French Binational students who are sitting their DELF B2 exam in the coming days!
