Garden

What is happening in our garden?

As the cool season vegetables are slowly coming to an end, we have started our warm season planning and planting. We still have some kale, broccoli and lettuce though. Our wild rocket is getting really wild and the herb garden looks its best now, before the heat sets in.

Our seedlings are doing really well. Carrots, beetroot and radishes have sprouted and we will put more carrot seeds in the weeks to come. Very popular with the kids, carrots are actually tricky to grow as they have tiny seeds and don't like to be transplanted from seedling pots.

Next week students will start summer vegetable planting. The rule for Melbourne is to plant tomatoes after Cup Day so frost can't harm the seedlings.
