Happy Holidays

As we come to the end of another busy term, I would like to thank our students, staff and families for the wonderful way you continue to support our school. It has been another term full of learning, performances, excursions, sporting events and plenty of moments that have made us proud.

Student reports are now available to view through Compass. I encourage you to take some time over the holidays to celebrate your child's achievements and reflect on the progress they have made throughout the first semester. Every child has something to be proud of, and it's always rewarding to look back at how far they've come.

The holidays are a chance for everyone to slow down, recharge and enjoy some time together. Whether you're heading away, catching up with family and friends or simply enjoying a quieter pace at home.

As I'm writing this, the Socceroos are still battling it out. By the time this newsletter reaches you, I'm hoping we'll all be celebrating a fantastic result. Fingers crossed they got the job done!

A Standing Ovation

This term, we're saying goodbye to Dr Ian Nisbet as he heads off to an exciting new opportunity. Ian first joined us as our Instrumental Music Coordinator, bringing his passion for music and supporting our instrumental program. It quickly became clear that he had much more to offer, and before long he had stepped into the role of Performing Arts teacher while continuing to oversee the instrumental program.

Ian  has shared his love of music with our students every day. Whether it was teaching in the classroom, leading rehearsals, working with our instrumental students or co-directing our production of Shrek, he brought enthusiasm, creativity and plenty of fun to everything he did. Behind the scenes, he also worked hard to keep our instrumental music program running smoothly, while completing his Master of Education. It has been a busy year, and he has managed it all with professionalism, commitment and good humour.

While we are sad to see him leave, we are excited for him as he begins the next chapter of his career at Haileybury.

Thank you once again for your continued support of Great Ryrie Primary School. It is a privilege to work alongside such a caring and supportive community.

Enjoy the holidays, stay safe, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for another exciting term on Monday 13 July.
