Dear Families and Friends,

As we approach the end of our first semester, it is the perfect time to reflect on the incredible achievements, events, and experiences that have shaped our school community over the past two terms.

Our Year 10 students have just returned from their Work Experience placements, and it has been wonderful hearing their stories. Whether this week helped them cement a future career path or simply taught them what fields they would rather avoid, it remains an invaluable exercise. Real-world experience is a powerful tool for helping young people realign their goals, aspirations, and core values.

A massive thank you to our RAP Committee for designing a truly insightful week of reconciliation activities. From Tutor Group reflections and a special assembly to a highly energetic round of the traditional Aboriginal game, Edor, for House Sport, the engagement across the campus was exceptional. A particular highlight was our community panel discussion. We are incredibly grateful to Ray Scales from Jawun, as well as Jocelyn Dhu, Wahid Brandso, and Rodney “Tui” Leleisiuao from DASA, for donating their time and wisdom to our students. Exploring this year's theme, 'All in', the conversation organically grew to cover the Stolen Generations, the recent referendum, and a student-led Q&A. Thank you to Anna Dohler for expertly moderating such a profound and necessary conversation.

In middle school news, our Year 9 students recently took part in the REACH 'Peer Dynamics' workshop. This program encourages students to unpack their daily social interactions, break down negative judgements, and actively reflect on how they shape our school culture. I highly encourage parents to chat with their children about this workshop and ask what personal insights they took away from the experience.

On stage, our Senior presentation of Love and Information was nothing short of brilliant. Exploring how humanity navigates modern data overload and the digital age, our student actors tackled rapid-fire vignettes with immense skill. Much like scrolling through a phone, the fast-paced shifting of characters and stages left a lasting impression, giving us all plenty to process long after the curtains closed.

Meanwhile, our Year 11 students are currently completing their 10-day Aspire program. I am eagerly looking forward to welcoming them back and witnessing the personal growth and leadership skills that always emerge from this immersive journey.

We also saw fantastic school spirit on display this week, courtesy of a highly entertaining joint assembly by Partridge and Griffiths Houses. The pride and enthusiasm from both houses were palpable.

Looking ahead to next week, our Year 10 and 12 students will begin their examinations. We will also host our Academic Assembly to recognise the hard work and dedication our students have poured into this semester. We hope to see many parents there to celebrate these achievements alongside us.

Wishing you all a safe, restful, and happy upcoming holiday.

Warm regards,
