Student Services

With another Semester done and dusted, the Student Services team is looking forward to a busy and highly eventful second half to the year. Some recent and upcoming highlights for the 2026 calendar include:
Year 9 Bounce Social Excursion
Students in the Year 9 cohort finished the Semester with an excursion to Bounce. A room full of climbing walls, trampolines, dodgeball and obstacle courses; what could possibly go wrong? The night was a huge success for all who attended and our students once again demonstrated their continued commitment to the value of mutual respect. It is a privilege to run these events with such a wonderful group of students, and we look forward to the next round of social excursions coming up throughout the year.
CORE Update
The Core program continued throughout the Semester with a keen focus on instilling our school values of Personal Best and Mutual Respect, growing our school community and empowering students in their future careers and pathways. A key highlight across Term 2 was the House Pickleball competition that saw students face off in quick-fire games of skill and determination. The program continues in Term 3 with 'Kan Jam', a combination of frisbee mixed with scoring 'bins'.
As always, Student Services continues to seek feedback from Staff, Students, and parents on how we can improve this program and achieve its aims of improving wellbeing and fostering meaningful relationships. Several changes have already been implemented following student and staff feedback with the view to making the program the best it can be, and something every member of our school community can look forward to each and every day.
Semester ONE Awards Assemblies
This week we had the honour of setting a celebratory tone for the new Semester with the Yr 7/8 and Yr 9/10 Semester One Awards Assemblies. These school ceremonies celebrated academic and personal achievement across our Lower and Middle School cohorts and saw students awarded for being in the top 15, 10, and 5% of GPAs for their year group. We were also delighted to acknowledge students who had consistently demonstrated the school values of Personal Best and Mutual Respect with our 'School Values Awards'. Whether students were formally recognised or not, it was fantastic to be able to bring our cohorts together and celebrate the wonderful community we have at the school.
The Semester Two assemblies will take place at the end of Term 4 as a further opportunity for more formal positive acknowledgment.
Upcoming Year 8 Wellbeing Day: 5 August, 2026
A new initiative for 2026 has been whole cohort 'Wellbeing Days' that has seen the timetable for a given year group collapsed for a full day, so they can attend a series of workshops, activities and team-building exercises. So far, Years 9-12 have enjoyed this break from the regular routine to focus on personal development, engage with contemporary issues facing our young people, and build camaraderie amongst the cohorts.
Wednesday the 5th of August (Week 3 of Term), it is the Year 8s turn for their Wellbeing Day. Further information will be provided over the coming weeks as to the make-up of the day, which will involve an interactive discussion on Social Media and staying safe online, some team-building challenges and a special mural creation as part of the school's NAIDOC celebrations. We are hoping this will be a highly rewarding and valuable experience for our young students and are looking forward to growing this initiative over the coming years.
Further Upcoming Events
Term 3 is full of activities and points of interest for our students with the school's celebrations of NAIDOC Week, the Bullying Week of Action, Wear it Purple, RUOK? Day, to name a few.
