BSC Swimming Carnival

Beaumaris Secondary College is hosting its annual Whole School House Swimming Carnival on Wednesday 6 March at Oakleigh Recreation Centre. Students will have the opportunity to participate in a range of traditional swimming events such as freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly and freestyle relays, along with novelty events such as classic catch, finska and best-dressed competitions.

Participation in these events allow students to earn points for their house, whilst also gaining entry into the Division Swimming Team, if successful. Students will be given the opportunity to sign up for the events they wish to participate in during GOAL with their mentors.

On the day, students should arrive to Beaumaris Secondary College at the usual time of 8.40am, where they will be shuttled to and from the venue via buses with relevant year level staff. Students will return to school by 3.10pm and will be dismissed from there.

Students are encouraged to wear their house colours or their healthy lifestyles uniform.

As this is a whole school event, all students are expected to attend. There will be no classes running at school on this day. We kindly ask that parents do not attend the event on the day.

Students are encouraged to bring the following items:

  • Appropriate swimming attire (bathers, goggles, swim cap)
  • Towel
  • Hat
  • Sunscreen
  • Water
  • Packed lunch (there is a canteen where food can be purchased, however options are limited)

The following items are not permitted and should be kept in their lockers for the day:

  • Mobile phones
  • Airpods/earphones
  • Speakers

If found, items will be confiscated, and students will need to collect from the front office at the end of the day. Students are not allowed to purchase food from outside the venue (e.g., Uber Eats, Door Dash, Menu Log etc).

Please Note: Consent and payment is due by Monday 26 February.

We are all looking forward to a great day!
