The 2024 Project Compassion Fundraiser will be launched in Week 3 on Shrove Tuesday 13 February and will run throughout the season of Lent until the end of Term 1. In Week 3, Project Compassion boxes will go home to families to collect cash donations. This year families are also able to donate online by clicking on this link: Salvado Catholic College - Caritas | Project Compassion Schools.

 On Shrove Tuesday, students will enjoy a Pancake at recess to mark this special day. All students are invited to bring a gold coin donation for Project Compassion to their class teacher on this day. 

Shrove Tuesday “marks the final day of Ordinary Time before the solemn season of Lent commences on Ash Wednesday. This day is synonymous with celebration, often seen as the last opportunity to indulge in rich and indulgent foods before the penitential period of fasting and abstinence during Lent. Fat Tuesday is a time for revelry and festivities, with people coming together to enjoy sumptuous meals, delicious treats, and vibrant parades. It serves as a joyful farewell to the carefree days of Ordinary Time, emphasizing the imminent spiritual journey of self-reflection and preparation for Easter.”
