Better Health Program
WA Department of Health are funding places for children aged 6-12 years who are above a healthy weight and their parents or carers to the Better Health Program for 2024. (Click on the link for more information.)
The Better Health Program aims to empower children and their families by providing them with the support, tools and guidance necessary to develop healthy habits.
With childhood obesity and related health issues on the rise, it's become increasingly vital to develop healthy practices at an early age.
Who should join the program:
- Children who are 6-12 years old and above a healthy weight
- Families who are struggling with healthy eating habits
- Families who need help with screen time and activity
How much does the program cost:
FREE for eligible families
What does the program cover:
- Food Fundamentals
- Mindful Mealtimes
- Portion sizing
- Food Label reading
- Screen time and Physical Activity
- Role modelling as parents
How long does it go for?
10 weeks, delivered online or in person at local communities.
Who runs it?
Delivered by qualified health professionals.
