Dear Rockhampton North Special School Community,
What an exciting time it is for all of us! After a long wait of over 500 days, we have finally moved into our state-of-the-art E Block. The long-awaited E Block is now a vibrant reality, and it's already buzzing with activity and excitement. It's a moment filled with pride and joy for our school community, and I want to share a few thoughts about this significant milestone.
E Block is not just a new building; it's a beacon of advanced learning and opportunities. It houses specialist subjects such as Art, Performing Arts, Science, and Physical Education, offering our students a rich and diverse educational experience. The pride and enthusiasm our students show as they explore these new spaces is a joy to witness.
A special mention must go to our Senior Students, who are also hosted in E Block and are engaging in valuable Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses. One standout program is our Hospitality VET course, where every student involved is getting hands-on experience in our school’s Water Lily Cafe. This initiative is not just about learning skills in hospitality; it's about building confidence, fostering teamwork, and providing real-world experience in a supportive environment.
The Water Lily Cafe is set to become a hub of delicious lunches and treats, all prepared and served by our talented students. This is a fantastic opportunity for our school community to enjoy amazing culinary creations while supporting the practical learning of our students.
