Year 12 Guest Speaker
Year 12 is an exciting year full of social events and to support our students Sonya Karras was our guest speaker leading an open discussion about ‘Safe Partying’. Students were provided with knowledge about the laws, the possible impact that alcohol can have on the body and strategies to implement when out in social situations.
Year 12 student feedback included:
- We were given great knowledge in a safe environment where we could ask questions
- Sonya provided real life stories on situations and strategies on how to deal with these
- The session felt like a discussion not a lecture and we gained real skills we can use
We look forward to welcoming Sonya back to the Academy later in the year to talk to our Year 10 students about vaping.
