Celebration of Learning

Welcome to our 2024 GNLC Mambourin Campus! The year has begun with such a positive buzz as we not only welcome new amazing students and their parents/guardians to the College, but also many new staff members who are ready to take our students on an exciting journey. There will be much happening throughout the year and we are looking forward to sharing this journey with you.

This week, we would like to share some of the student learning that has been happening in the classrooms.

Prep E have been exploring the numbers 1 to 10 by playing card games such as Snap and Uno. Needless to say, plenty of fun…and competitive students!

In our Unit Inquiry time, Prep F have been looking at the many things that make us unique, as we get to know each other better.

Prep G students have been learning to record their numbers 1-10 on our whiteboards whilst busy in conversation with their peers, eager to share their work!

Prep H have been learning about our school community. Here students had their first visit to the school Library which connects us to the broader GNLC community.

In 1E, we spent the first few days learning about the classroom, systems, routines and activities in our space. This was a great way to get to know each other and built a sense of community within the classroom.

1F has had a great first week of school. Students have appreciated being back in the classroom, utilising their knowledge and prior learning to work collaboratively, building connections with old and new peers.

Year 2 students embarked on a heartwarming journey through generations, building a vibrant family tree and sharing cherished stories from lovely photographs. Each photo sparked joyful memories and connected young hearts to their roots, fostering empathy, understanding and a sense of belonging. The completed tree wasn't just a chart; it was a celebration of family, reminding everyone they're part of something bigger and truly special.
