Earth Care
Garden Up Date
The kitchen garden is looking amazing. We have been blessed with lots of fruit and vegetables that are available Friday afternoon after the assembly or Mass, just for a gold coin donation for the garden. We have saved some beautiful pumpkins for use in the Cafe. We will have to wait and see how Matt and the Cafe children use it in the cafe.
Thank you to the amazing garden watering parents over our summer that helped keep our 200 new native plants watered and alive over our hot summer. Thank you Michelle, Mill, Brenton, Emma, Megan, and Leigh for all your hard work. These plants are vital to help create a catchment area for the water run off from the basketball courts and paths into the school, when it rains. They will also help create a barrier to stop a build up of sediment that runs into our wetland.
Some of our fantastic produce.
Stay tunned and bring your gold coins to assemblies and Mass.
Recycling News
The School Recycling Up will be closed for a couple of weeks, until our new leadership teams get it up and running again. Stay tunned to what we can recycle.
Just a note: Plastic bottle top recycling will be fazed out as the Mornington Shire accept bottle tops if they are attached to the bottle they came from.
Mornington Shire Recycling Trailer
Crib Point - 22 April - 12 May
The trailer will be at St Joe's on the above dates and collects e - waste (that fits in the trailer opening) and old bags, clothes and shoes that can not be donated to others.
We are very appreciative of the Mornington Shire to supply such a valuable service to stop e -waste and textiles going into our red landfill bins.
