We hope this newsletter finds you well and ready for some exciting updates from Cluckingham Palace!

Ongoing Initiatives:

We are thrilled to share that Cluckingham Palace is here to stay! Our beloved canteen eating area is taking center stage in supporting our mission to reduce waste in the school yard. We believe in creating an environment where waste is minimised, and our students can enjoy a clean and green space.

Short Term Plans (Early Next Year):

Get ready for some fun and fitness! In Term 1, we'll be launching our Ride2School Day event. Imagine a meeting point where everyone, young and old, rides to school together. It's a fantastic way to promote healthy habits and build a sense of community.

And that's not all! We're teaming up with the canteen to cut down on packaging for lunch orders. Say goodbye to unnecessary wrappers and hello to a more eco-friendly lunchtime.

The First Two Weeks of the Year:

We're kicking off the school year with some exciting SWPBS lessons. These lessons will teach and remind students about the expected behaviors to keep our yard clean and promote "nude food." Nude food, in this context, means bringing snacks and lunch without packaging.

Let's keep it simple, sustainable, and waste-free!

Long Term Vision (Later Next Year):

Looking ahead to later next year, we're focusing on the complete Nude Food experience. We want to reduce waste around the school even more by encouraging reusable lunch order bags. It's a small change that can make a big difference!

As we dream big for the future, we have some exciting plans:

1. Upgrading our solar panels for a more sustainable energy source.

2. Organizing a school-wide clean-up hour to keep our surroundings spick and span.

3. Celebrating National Tree Day to contribute to a greener environment.

4. Creating an Indigenous Garden in place of water tanks to promote biodiversity and cultural awareness.

Nude Food in 2024:

We're excited to announce that in 2024, we're bringing back our Nude Food initiative. Parents, we kindly ask for your support in reducing waste by packing your child's snacks and lunch without packaging. Let's work together to create a school that cares for the environment!

Reusable Lunch Order Bags are also available for $12.50. They come in a variety of colors and are a stylish way to contribute to a waste-free lunch. Contact the school office if you'd like to purchase one.
