SWPBS Initiative

We are excited to share that Ceres Primary School is reviewing our school values to better align with our evolving educational and wellbeing goals and the needs of our students. This change will reflect our commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.

After beginning our implementation of School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWBPS) and after many discussions with Department of Education SWPBS coaches, it has been acknowledged that we have too many school values. We have surveyed students across all year levels to recall our school values and discovered that students averaged recalling 3.3 values out of the 7 we have in place. It is essential for our students to know our school values but also have the ability to deeply understand their meaning which will assist to guide the decisions and behaviours of all members of our school community. 

During this process, we will be calling upon the voice of all members of our school community. We want as many people as possible to have their say. We are asking families to work together to assist revamp our values. As a family, create a poster or display that shows 3 core values that you believe Ceres Primary School stands for. This can be represented in any way in poster form and will be displayed in the office foyer. In the coming weeks, you will see some staff displays. We want everyone to have a voice and think carefully about the values that will guide us in the future. You may also want to include a school motto. When finished, please return it to your child’s teacher or office and it will be displayed in the office foyer area.
