Welcome to our first newsletter for the term! Apologies that it is late; last week was Covid week at THS with a number of staff, me included, testing positive! Anyway, it means this is a bumper issue with all the photos from the Canberra excursion and the Ekka!
As I write our Canberra Excursion has almost finished - with the bus due home later tonight. What a fabulous experience - I have so enjoyed looking at the photos each day and reading about all the different opportunities our students have had. As expected, I have heard nothing but positives regarding the behaviour and participation of everyone involved. A huge thank you to the staff who went and especially to the generosity of Pat Williams who made this excursion possible. I know the staff are already excited and planning the next one for 2026!
Well done to our Ekka team, who again represented our school so well. A huge thank you to the parents, local producers, the Bulmer family for their ongoing support with transportation, Australia Property and Livestock Tenterfield for supplying the vests and hats and of course Mr Jones, Mrs Parker and Hughie for making the Ekka possible. I hope you enjoy looking at the photos and reading about the fantastic results.
Our Safe Driver Education program is a crucially important part of what we offer our senior students. This week we have been overwhelmed by the generosity of our wonderful community in supporting this. The Lions Club, Rotary and Lisa and Yancey O'Brien have all given the school generous donations which will significantly reduce the cost for our students. A huge thank you to Mr Woodrow for his commitment in organising this excursion every year.
Finally, we look forward to welcoming our Yr 6 students for their second transition visit on Tuesday. Our Yr 6 into 7 parent information session will be held on Tuesday 3rd September. We encourage as many families to come to this as possible.
