Fathers’ Day celebrations

We loved seeing lots of dads/ grandads and father figures here at OLF this morning !

The sausage sizzle breakfast began at 7.30am. Following this …. there was time for some fun with a paper plane challenge and time for playing a variety of ball games with your kids!

After the games we had our OLF Fathers’ day Liturgy at 9am which was held on the top playground and led by some of our Year 6 and Kinder students.  It was a wonderful morning celebrating the amazing father's and male role model's in our students lives.

A Year 6 initiative! - ‘Ignite our faith’ in Year 6

In last fortnight’s Newsletter I wrote about a Year 6 initiative called ‘Ignite Our faith’. The program is designed to give the students a chance to meet once a fortnight to explore Scripture, spend some time discussing issues of faith and how they relate to their young lives. The 45 minute session ends with a pizza lunch where the students get a chance to mix informally with the Priests of our Parish.

Twenty students joined in the session led by Fr Julian, Fr Anderson, Ms Bowler and myself. Students discussed a variety of modern day issues and were able to share their thoughts and how they would respond given a certain situation. Twenty more students (Group 2) will have their first session this Friday ! Well done to Year 6 !

Let’s see how you go…. A chance to chat with your child(ren) about some of the Liturgical terms that you would encounter during the Mass…..
