Principal's Report

We, at Miners Rest Primary School, would like to acknowledge the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation.

We pay our respects and thank the Wadawurrung people.

May we share your land. We promise to look after it, as well as the animals and people too.

Family Maths Night

What a wonderful night, and an impressive turnout, by our school community on Monday evening. It was delightful to see so many families engaging in learning and having fun together in the Gymnasium. A big thank you to Pat Withell, who led the planning and delivery of the event, and to our staff for the support provided leading up to, during and after the event. Competition winners will be announced at assembly on Friday.

Sun Smart

Just a reminder to all of our families that we have now entered 'hat' season.

As of Monday, students will need to be wearing a wide-brimmed school hat to engage in play and learning outdoors. Please see our Sun Safety Policy for further information.

School Council

Our School Council Meeting this coming Monday is open to our community. We warmly welcome any members of our school community to attend. The General Meeting commences at 7:00 pm, please come along and join the members of our School Council.

Writers' Festival

We celebrate all of the writers that we have across the school this week and showcase their talent in the Writers' Festival. This celebratory event will take place in the Gymnasium and will be open to our school community from 8:45 am on Friday morning. Come along, take the opportunity to grab a free coffee from our canteen and enjoy the Miners Rest Primary School Writers' Festival. The day will culminate with an assembly dedicated to announcing the winners of the event.

Early Childhood Educator's Day

Today we celebrate the dedication and passion of our Early Childhood Educators - our brilliant staff at the Kindergarten! We are grateful for their impact and commitment in the lives of our children and families every day, but take the time today to acknowledge how special and valuable they are.

Nesting Plovers

We currently have Plovers nesting on our Medwell Oval - they have the best accommodation in town as they await the hatching of their eggs. We have contacted Wildlife Services and have been informed that it is illegal to tamper with the eggs. The students have done a fabulous job at managing the restricted area that we have on the oval in order to maintain distance from these very protective birds. The oval will be back in full service by Term 4.

New Business Manager

As of next term, we will have a new Business Manager joining our team at Miners Rest K-6. Chelsea Teichelman will replace Mandy Simpson as the Business Manager and we look forward to welcoming Chelsea at the start of next term.

A busy, but exciting end to Term Three. We are looking forward to...

School Council - Community Meeting

Coffee at the Miners Hub Cafe

The Kinder Art Show

Write a Book in a Day

Student Led Conferences

Walk-to-School Day
