Year 4 

Narratives

This term, to celebrate Book Week, The Year 4 students published a Narrative entitled: ‘The Lost Map’. The students meticulously planned, developed their characters and description, wrote their first draft, then used Chromebooks to edit and uplevel their writing using their Writing Goals and VCOP criterion scales.

The students imputed their ‘blurb’ into an AI text to image generator, to create an AI Book Cover for their published Narratives.

The Lost Map

Crash! As two little girls  were wrestling madly across the hallway of their small mouse sized house. The two girls' names were Florence and Millie, and they were fighting because  Millie turned the music up too loud. Millie then started screaming at the top of her lungs, for Florence to find her tu tu. Millie's cheeks started to burn red hot until Florence told her she would find it.

The Lost Map

One dark cool frosty night, l walked up to my cupboard and found an old dusty map. I was shocked that I found this map. I ran down stairs to show my mum and dad, they both said "WOW that is incredible where did you find it?" I replied, "In my closet"! "Okay, let's look for the gold tomorrow," Dad said.

‘Beeb beeb’ my alarm clock went off and I got ready to go look for the treasure. 

Finally, we got in the car and off we went to look for the treasure. ‘YAY’ I said  with excitement,  "I hope we find some treasure’’. 

I grabbed the map from my bag and told my mum where to go. After about 5 minutes into the car ride I saw Lebron James playing basketball at a local court. We pulled  over and said, "Hi lebron do you want to come look for gold with us.” Lebron replied, “Sure let’s go”.

After 5 minutes of searching for the gold we were close to the treasure. We kept driving till we reached the end of the road “A cave” I found a cave. We walked up to the cave with obstacles and lava. I said “down for me” but lebron said “ no we're doing this, let’s go”.

I saw some treasure passed the lava with rocks, I went first, and jumped from one rock to another. I made it! Then mum, dad and Lebron walked up to the optical and they all jumped from one rock to another. Finally, we made it. There was the treasure! I pulled the key out from the map and put the key in the chest and a bunch of gold! After calming down, we got in the car and celebrated. What a fantastic day!
