Restorative Practices
At St. Mary’s, we understand that conflicts are inevitable but also valuable opportunities for learner growth. This week, in our SME-TV ‘Ramp- It- Up’ segment, we discussed the concept of "Reset and Repair." This approach is a key part of our restorative practices, focusing on the importance of acknowledging mistakes, repairing any damage caused, and moving forward with a renewed commitment to positive relationships.
When conflicts arise, our goal is not to assign blame but to facilitate open dialogue where all parties involved can express their feelings, understand the impact of their actions, and work together to restore harmony. By embracing this approach, we teach our children the value of responsibility, empathy, and resilience. These are essential life skills that not only help resolve the immediate conflict but also build a stronger, more supportive school community where every member feels valued and respected.
